BursaRay Capacity Increase Project
Signalling System for 120s headway
The BursaRay Capacity Increase Project aims to increase the BursaRay transport capacity by upgrading its signaling system. The headway time between trains is reduced to as little as 120 seconds. It is being implemented on 23.5 km of the East-West main line between University and Arabayatağı stations.
The project consists of three phases: The first phase between Arabayatağı and Paşaçiftliği has been inaugurated in October 2020. Works of Phase II (Paşaçiftliği-Küçük Sanayi) and Phase III (Küçük Sanayi-Universite) are well under way.
CCE is responsible for the system planning and layout design in cooperation with it’s German partner company. This not only includes the operational design with detailed travel time and headway simulations but also the complete Signalling system layout design:
CCE is also implementing the complete lineside installation of signalling equipment and signage.
During commissioning of the works, this headway has been successfully proven in tests with more than sufficient time reserves.
CCE has also tested and commissioned the complete ATP system with its expert personnel.
Despite many restrictions for travelling and working caused by the present pandemic, our project is well on track and will complete within 2021.

Vehicle Upgrade Project for Burulaş
Class SG2 Duewag trains from Rotterdam
CCE equipped Burulaş's fleet of 22 vehicles previously used in the Rotterdamse Metro system with the necessary control technology for Automatic Train Protection and radio communication. Full compatibility with the existing BursaRay infrastructure was an indispensable requirement for this project. Integration of conventional vehicle systems with state-of-the-art signalling and communication system posed an interesting challenge, which was mastered in excellent cooperation with the customer.
Light Rail Transit Line 1, North Extension in Manila/Philippines
Project Management for Signalling
The new Signalling system had to be fully compatible with the existing Signalling system, managed from one unified control centre. Works and commissioning had to be executed during ongoing train operations. Compatibility with 3 classes of vehicles had to be ensured.
The Signalling system of the North Extension Project of Manila's Light Rail Transit Line 1 has been executed by a Consortium under the lead of DMCI company.
CCE was the Consortium's project management contractor for the entire signalling works with a volume of ~5 Mio Euros.
The project contained the extension of the line from Monumento to Common Station and its integration with the existing LRT1 Line.
Bursa Light Rail System (Phase 2)
Project Management
The Bursa Light Rail System (Phase 2) Project has been executed by a Consortium under the lead of Yapı Merkezi company. CCE was the Consortium's project management contractor for the entire electro-mechanical works with a volume of ~25 Mio Euros.
The project included extensions
Electromechanical works included the subsystems of Signalling, which required full integration with the existing Signalling system from Phase 1. Telecom systems had to be extended, whereas the radio system required a complete switchover from analogue to digital TETRA technology. The SCADA system required an extension as well. Stations had to be equipped with lifts and escalators.
The onboard systems of existing Class B80 vehicles had to be adapted to integrate with then new infrastructure systems, new equipment has been delivered for the new B2010 Class vehicles.
